Hodgson Air Conditioning Tips

Test your air conditioner now.

Turn on your air conditioner when the outside temperature is 70 degrees or above. Measure the temperature of the air at your register. It should read between 50-60 degrees. If the temperature is above 60 degrees, you should have your air conditioner serviced by one of our professionals. Service will prevent you from being without air conditioning on the first hot day of the year!

Wash the condenser coil.

If you have an outside air conditioning unit, it should be washed each spring. You can use a garden hose to rinse out the coils. Let the equipment dry for at least four hours before turning it on.

Clean the drain line.

Cleaning the drain line attached to the evaporator coil can help improve cooling functionality. For basement installations, the evaporator coil is usually installed above your furnace.
